Breakfast 05-07-2012
I forgot to post last night’s dinner, which was salad, green beans, and rotisserie chicken. Here’s today’s breakfast, though, or the half of it that remained when I remembered to photograph it. It’s a little blurry: Tacodeli’s The Popeye
is a very active breakfast taco. This is not technically Slow Carb-compliant–notice the whole wheat tortilla. I added portabella mushroom to The Popyeye, which I have topped with their dona (¿doña?) salsa, a spicy, creamy avocado concoction. Also, there is a small amount of queso fresco in it, violating the no-dairy rule. I also put some Sugar in the Raw in my coffee. Well, hey, healthy enough, right?

Snap Kitchen: Lunch 05-06-2012

I chose it because (1) Mr. Grrrlygirl is fixing up the kitchen, so we have no working sink or dishwasher at the moment, making takeout and prepared foods a necessary evil and (2) it conforms with my understanding of the Slow-Carb Diet–though I suspect the kabocha squash is not OK under the Slow Carb rules. I added some sliced avocado.

I’m trying to get healthy.
Yes, this is one of THOSE blogs. I’m hoping for support as I recover from the 40 pounds I’ve packed on in the past 5 years in a sedentary desk job. Join me on my journey. At the moment I’m inspired by “The Four Hour Body.” I’d kind of like to set up “Charles Atlas Is My Personal Trainer” blog someday, too. At any rate, according to the “Four Hour Body,” it’s helpful to keep a food diary that involves taking and posting pictures of your meals. The author mentions a couple of folks who lost weight doing a Slow Carb Diet eating at Chipotle often. So, without further ado, here’s today’s brunch–a Chipotle Bol.

Brunch 05-05-2012

Chipotle Mexican Grill Burrito Bowl (Barbacoa, with pinto beans, black beans, grilled bell peppers, red chile salsa, guacamole) and and a Topo Chico. NOTE: I just noticed that my original title was “Brunch 05-15-2012.” Grrrlygirl blogs from the future.
